In this 2-Day lesson, students will learn about Sensationalism and it's impact on the Spanish American War and dive into Roosevelt's influence on American Imperialism. Discoveries will be made through writing their own Sensationalized article and using a Word Cafe to debate ideas.

Students will analyze primary sources and use critical thinking to uncover the various perspectives and opinions regarding America's growing Empire.

Students will use the Library of Congress to research who came to America, what they may have been looking for, and how they were met.
